o I was having dinner Friday night with my Dad and his partner Liz and talking about various things when the focus of the conversation fell into Social Media or specifically FACEBOOK as it so often does at dinner tables all across America these days. The interesting thing is it brought up the issues of Privacy, or how Liz feels about Privacy, how I do and how Dad does. And how do each view Social networks and community? Today is my birthday and what a great surprise! One of my best friends flew into town for the weekend to celebrate “45” with me. I can’t think of anything better than seeing an old friend on your birthday and just hanging out, eating good food, watching football and catching up. Too bad for Tim & Joyce that it decided to rain 6 inches over the past two days, but tomorrow looks promising for some sunshine and sightseeing while I go back to work! Continue reading

Ugh – How I feel right now. Yikes – How I felt after a call earlier today. Hmmmmmm….What I am doing now, thinking and reflecting.
I am sure you can all understand these three feelings. They are brought on by the “call” from work, a friend, a family member or something you may see or hear that affects you. Mine was a call today from my teenage daughter whom I adore. Go figure, she is beautiful, wickedly smart and can melt my heart with a smile anytime. But I have to be careful…she knows it! Social Media – wow. I was in a meeting this week in New York and an investment banker said to me ” I work primarily on Social Network Deals”. I said ” really, is that big these days, as we all proceeded to laugh…Ya, Kind of. $100 Billion for Facebook? Really…… And Groupon turned down $7 Billion, and now I think it has lost like 50% of their renewals since August for the month of September…. Continue reading
